1,具有最低可能电镀负载电容(CL)和等效串联电阻(ESR)的石英晶体。物联网最显著的趋势是在提高整体功能的同时节省电池电量。先进的IC子系统持续缺乏能源,迫使它们以更低的功耗运行。功耗降低的直接结果是Pierce振荡器的振荡增益裕量下降,具有业界较低的gm _ critical振荡器电路强度的定义指标。gm_critical在各种需要石英晶体技术适配的物联网优化芯片组中被推到了最低限度。一个重要的适应是更低的CL和ESR值。今天的晶体已经发展到满足最低水平的CL和最低ESR的要求。同时降低CL和ESR会使晶体更容易驱动,并且能够使用配置了低gm_critical值的皮尔斯振荡器来驱动。晶振设计的领先优势是最大限度地降低功耗,现在可以在各种频率下实现3pF或4pF的CL。凭借如此低的CL值,节能MCU和RF芯片组的设计人员可以优化设计,以比以往更低的功耗运行。
2,低于100纳计时电流消耗实时时钟(RTC)。
许多智能物联网设备通常部署在广阔的周界上,预计将在无需日常维护的情况下自主运行多年。对于这些设备来说,功耗就是一切。最后的50nA可能意味着在微型硬币电池上的持续可操作性与通过安装更大的电池来牺牲房地产之间的差异。以前的RTC技术的功耗最高可达当今最先进技术的10倍。当系统中的RTC是深度睡眠中唯一保持活动的心跳时,将功耗保持在22nA的时间缩短意味着电池寿命的显著延长。低于100纳的功耗RTC可使物联网设备在深度睡眠中运行所需的时间。
3,微型MEMS振荡器。
对于物联网和可穿戴设备市场来说,尺寸是一个相当大的设计挑战。虽然MEMS石英晶体振荡器不是成本最低的解决方案,而且通常在功耗方面效率较低,但它们是小尺寸设计中的王者。MEMS振荡器采用“芯片级”封装(单个硅芯片大小),输出频率范围为32.768kHz至100MHz以上,尺寸小至1.5毫米x 0.8毫米。微型MEMS振荡器是小型化物联网设备的理想解决方案。
4,紧凑型高级TCXOs。
毫微微蜂窝、LoRa无线电、机器对机器(M2M)设备、GPS跟踪和其他物联网系统严重依赖精确的长期时序稳定性来同步通信并避免频谱和时分干扰。从遥远的卫星获取GPS信号、锁定信号并计算其在地球表面的精确坐标需要精确的毫秒到毫秒计时。基站收发信台(BTS)和其他蜂窝设备现在迁移到5G,在精确的传输窗口上工作。模糊这些基于时间的边界会导致更高的误码率,违反标准和规范,并增加不必要的噪声和干扰。如今的紧凑型TCXO晶振器件可实现1ppm至0.1ppm的温度频率稳定性,非常适合许多驱动物联网的紧凑型RF和GPS应用。

没有云的可访问性和带宽能力的爆炸式增长,物联网就不会存在。例如,增加服务器、存储系统和网络接口的带宽(无论是短期还是长期)直接依赖于低噪声时钟的不断发展。超过50千兆位/秒(Gbps)的超高速串行速率要求参考时钟相位抖动性能低于200 fs(RMS)。较高的相位噪声将超过SERDES和RF设备之间低误码率传输所需的水平。当今一代超低噪声和抖动时钟支持推动云的高速数据流量呈指数级增长。
